April 17th, 2005

As you all know April is the month of my birthday and above all the remembrance of the Armenian genocide. It is now the 90th anniversary since the massacre at the hands of the Ottoman Empire of Turkey. Armenians from around the world will again protest the denial and will do so year after year until the Turkish government confesses to the systematic annihilation of the Armenian race in 1915. Last year I had the pleasure of going to the monument of the genocide in Montebello, Ca USA then the Turkish Consulate in Hollywood, Ca accompanied with a fellow Armenian martial arts gym Hyekatchdo www.hyekatchdo.com. This year I have plans to bring other Armenian gyms along with people of different cultures. For those who are unaware of the Armenian Genocide of April 24, 1915 you can visit among others - www.armenians.com/genocide , theforgotten.org and for events posted for your area www.genocideevents.com/ ..

I had a chance to check out the Candlelight Vigil at UCLA this past thursday. The ASA (Armenian Student Association) did in fact put on a great venue with music, speeches and video documentaries on the Genocide. www.genocideevents.com/flyers/big/losangeles/2.jpg%20

In my point of view, being born on the day of the 24th symbolizes a calling on my part. As a fighter, I see myself as the new blood for the Armenian race with fighting spirit which shows that Armenians will never annihilated.

For those interested in reading a short article on me at an online Armenian news site go to www.armenianow.com ; much appreciation going out to reporter Suren Musayelyan.

As far as fighting goes, I was scheduled to fight in the Caribbean islands at the beginning of the year which was postponed twice and found out just recently, now canceled. As I had mentioned in previous journal entries that I would like to be a bit more busier with fighting, things don’t always go the way you want. I do have a few things that I am working on now and will be sure to post them when they are confirmed. As far as K-1 on April 30th, it will be an all heavyweight show so I might be on the show in August instead.

Training has been great the last few months, I had the pleasure of sparring with Diego Corrales the last couple months who will be fighting to unify the 135lb. title on May 7th on Showtime boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=006722%20.

So before I end this entry I would like to ask all who read my journal to take a moment and sign your name in the site at the link below to show appreciation and recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
